‘Cadillac Records’ hits all the right notes

The new film “Cadillac Records” didn’t have to be nearly as good as it is. The story of the record label that introduced the world to Muddy Waters, Chuck Berry and others could have leaned entirely on its music, and nobody would have minded. Instead, somebody bothered to make a real movie, and the result is a satisfying combination of great songs and strong dramatic performances.
